Michelle Robin, DC, FASA, CCSP
Founder & CWO
Doctor of Chiropractic
Dr. Michelle Robin has been passionate about wellness for 26 years. She is the Chief Wellness Officer (CWO) and Founder of Your Wellness Connection, PA in Shawnee, Kansas. After graduating from Cleveland Chiropractic College in 1991 she opened her doors in 1992 with one other person. Her vision to change people’s lives by connecting them to holistic wellness practices and treatments led her to build a state-of-the-art healing facility in 2001. Since that time, she continues to lead over 30 team members and one of the most successful healing centers in the nation.
Giving back to the community is very important to Dr. Robin. Involved with chiropractic care since childhood, Dr. Robin has a vision to enhance wellness in people’s lives by empowering them to connect to themselves and get back to basic wellness practices. Michelle is a committed international wellness advocate and her mission statement reads: I am loving, healing and educating myself and others with integrity, humor and spirit.

Shirin Moshiri, DC
Doctor of Chiropractic
Dr. Shirin Moshiri received her BA in Human Biology from the University of Kansas. In addition to earning a Doctor of Chiropractic degree in 2006 from Cleveland Chiropractic College, she’s earned specialties in: Activator, Pro-Adjuster , Sacral Occipital Technique, Diversified, Neuro Emotional Technique (NET)and Thompson Drop.
Dr. Moshiri’s expertise lies within geriatric treatment for the elderly population. She uses low-force chiropractic techniques in order to promote self-healing while alleviating aches and pains. She acknowledges the lack of attention placed on the elderly and hopes to eradicate that through her treatment.
Her personal philosophy believes a person’s biography is one’s biology, and to attain one’s optimal health, chiropractors must seek to treat the whole client.

Shannon Pishny, DC, FICPA
Doctor of Chiropractic
Dr. Shannon Pishny graduated from Cleveland Chiropractic College in April of 2005 and prior to that, earned a degree in Human Biology at Fort Hays University. She is certified in Prenatal and Pediatric Chiropractic as well as has undergone training in Craniosacral Therapy with Dr. Carol Phillips of the International Chiropractic Pediatric Association. In addition, she has received specialty training in: Diversified , Cox Flexion Distraction , Pro-Adjuster, Logan Basic, and Pediatric Chiropractic .
Dr. Pishny’s philosophy is centered on the wellbeing of the family. To do this, Dr. Pishny informs clients on the options of childbirth and is dedicated to spreading awareness on how to raise healthy children.
She chose chiropractic because of the awesome power the human body possesses to heal itself. Her intention is to help people achieve their optimal health while living life to the fullest potential.

Ang Ribaste, DC, CCST
Doctor of Chiropractic
Dr. Angela Ribaste, a graduate of Rockhurst University and Cleveland Chiropractic College, has specialties in: past and new trauma, Diversified , Flexion-Distraction,and Pro-Adjuster, In addition to obtaining accreditation in specialty skills, Dr. Ribaste is also Chiropractic Spinal Trauma Certified (CCST) and is currently completing her Wellness Certification.
Dr. Ribaste experienced the benefits of chiropractic care as an undergraduate suffering from lower back pain. After several weeks of no relief, she reluctantly sought treatment. Not only did her lower back pain recede, but also her daily headaches. At the time, she realized she lacked knowledge in body functionality and decided to spend a few days with Dr. Robin to observe her methods of treatment.
This experience profoundly influenced her future and inevitably, shaped the course of her new-founded career. Her passion is displayed in her treatment plans, in which education is integrated by providing clients with information on the importance of the four quadrants, their own self-healing, and self-regulating body.

Brooks J. Rice, DC

Proud to work with an integrative team of accomplished physicians, Dr. Brooks Rice is passionate to stay on the cutting edge of health care. In 1997, he received a B.S degree in Human Biology from Graceland University and then, attended Cleveland Chiropractic to earn his Doctor of Chiropractic.
Dr. Rice’s expertise is chiropractic neurology and through copius training and research has the accreditation to specialize treating learning disorders, Autism, ADHD children, and mood disorders. More specifically, he is DAN certified (Defeat Autism Now) as well as certified in Cox Flexion-Distraction, Pro-Adjuster, and Applied Kinesiology. When treating his clients, Dr. Rice believes the body should be treated from a nutritional and mechanical standpoint, which allows the root of problem be self-healed by the body.

Melanie A. Smith, DC
Doctor of Chiropractic
Dr. Melanie Smith graduated Magna Cum Laude from Cleveland Chiropractic College in August 2006 and received the Clinic Excellence Award and the Clinic Service Award. She has additional training in Chiropractic Biophysics (CBP) with over 100 hours in Postgraduate Pediatric, Pregnancy and Craniosacral Therapy and training through the International Chiropractic Pediatric Association. Additionally, she has certification in the Webster Technique.
Dr. Smith decided to pursue a career in chiropractic when she experienced how it benefited her four children. Once she made the connection between chiropractic adjustments and nervous system functioning, she realized she wanted to help families develop that same connection. When each family member is healthy the whole family functions better!
In addition, she acknowledges the importance of empowering the client through education and implementation of clear goals. Through this, she enjoys watching her clients regain control of their health.

Cori Colombe HC, AADP
Wellness Advocate
Cori Colombe is a graduate of Arizona State University with a MBA from Baker University. Healing her migraines and her son’s asthma with healthy foods, deep breathing and other natural therapies has been the catalyst that transformed her life, health and profession.
Cori attended the Institute for Integrative Nutrition (IIN) in New York earning her a certification in Integrative Nutrition from Columbia University. Her training included all the different dietary theories, eastern and western nutrition, modern health issues, personal growth and development, and health counseling. Cori is a board certified member of The American Association of Drugless Practioners. Cori is currently attending the Graduate Counseling Program at IIN.
A mother of 3 young boys, Cori is passionate about sharing her knowledge with other parents and empowering them to improve the health of the whole family while keeping it simple. She is a strong believer in the concept of listening to your own body’s special needs in order to live a happy, healthy, and fun life.

Shelly Murray HC, AADP

Shelly Murray, a Wellness Advocate, is a graduate of Shippensburg University with a degree in business and is currently earning a Holistic Counseling Certificate from the Institute of Integrative Nutrition, affiliated with Columbia University in New York. Shelly also holds a certification in Swedish massage.
Prior to joining the staff, Shelly gained teaching experience with children for both the St. Joseph school district and Huny Tree Preschool until 1999. However, her passion for healthy practices such as: yoga, meditation, exercise, and the inclusion of fresh foods in her diet, were strong influences in her life and coupled with her desire to help others, proved to be a fluid transition to the wellness field.
Shelly strives to make small wellness changes that will have significant impacts on clients’ health through positive motivation and education. Her goal is to provide support to clients and enable healthier, vibrant, and improved quality of life, while maintaining the activities they enjoy most.

Corey Priest, DC
Doctor of Chiropractic
Center Director
Dr. Corey Priest graduated with a Pre-Med degree from Northwest Missouri State University in 1998. He then went on to Logan College to receive his Doctor of Chiropractic in 2001 and then owned and operated his own practice for five years before joining Your Wellness Connection.
Dr. Priest is a candidate of the American Board of Chiropractic Internists focusing on chronic disorders and nutritional therapies. He is also certified through the American College for Advancement in Medicine for IV and Chelation therapies. In addition to his 100 hours of acupuncture, he also specializes in lower extremity bio-mechanics.
Dr. Priest was lead to functional medicine due to his client’s demand for new answers for their chronic and seemingly irresolvable conditions. He values the client partnership, giving them support while encouraging their personal responsibility for their health and wellness.

Acupuncturist
Prior to joining Your Wellness Connection, Shamayne Tate owned a private practice in Colorado Springs. She has a BA in Psychology from the University of Kansas, followed by a Masters of Science in Oriental Medicine from Southwest Acupuncture College. In addition, she is a Diplomate for Oriental Medicine, has extensive training in Beijing, China and her acupuncture license. She has received certifications in Facial Rejuvenation and Clean Needle.
Shamayne specializes in acute and chronic pain, Chinese herbal medicine, emotional balancing, digestive disorders, and cosmetic facial rejuvenation acupuncture. With over 12 years of experience in the health care field, she is dedicated to serving by empowering individuals through providing support to clients to make informed decisions. She is passionate about spreading wellness awareness while improving therapeutic avenues inherent in the body. Also, she recognizes the interrelationship of body, mind, and spirit to ensure long-term, result-oriented treatments.

Crystal Jenkins, LCPC
Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor
Crystal Jenkins, a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor, specializes in wellness and behavioral counseling for individuals and groups. She treats a wide range of psychological issues with adults and children, with emphasis on anxiety and depression, relationship concerns, life transitions, and grief and loss. Also, she is skilled in small-group counseling in the area of women’s health and has training in: Eye Movement De-Sensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Advanced Enneagram, and is a Hoffman Institute Teacher. In addition to her LCPC, she has a BS in Education and a Minor in Psychology from Emporia State as well as a MA in School Counseling.

Joyce Vancrum, a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor, specializes in helping individuals, couples, adolescents and families build self-esteem, improve relationships, and navigate life’s transitions. She has 13 years of experience using cognitive behavioral, solution-focused therapy to guide couples to peaceful co-existence. Highly accomplished, she has a degree from the University of Kansas in Education and a MA in Counseling and Guidance from UMKC. In addition to her work at Your Wellness Connection, she is the President of the Board of Safehome and a member of Johnson County Young Matrons.
Joyce enjoys helping people through life transitions, grief and loss issues, sleep disorders, depression, anxiety, caring for aging parents and women’s issues with aging, menopause and intimacy.

Grace Denton has been practicing massage therapy since her graduation from massage school in 2005. Through training, Grace has accumulated a variety of technique skills, which makes her a very eclectic therapist. Her skills include: hot stone , deep tissue, neuro-muscular, myofascial release, trigger point therapy, energy healing, and stretching.
Her passion developed at a very young age, of which she discovered while massaging family and friends. This passion grew to be a way of life for Grace! For her future, she hopes to continue to have a positive impact on the wellness of others. Her heart’s desire is that she would be blessed enough to provide a healthy & educational life for her daughter while maintaining happiness despite life’s trials. Katie Jones, a massage therapist for ten years, graduated from Massage Therapy Training Institute in 1997. After graduation, she worked as a manager and massage therapist, at a local massage facility. Currently, she sits on the review board of a local massage school.
Katie’s focus is deep tissue, hot stone and relaxation massage therapy. She feels blessed to be able to help people take time from their busy lives to relax. She is passionate about educating clients to promote self-care. To her, understanding and implementing the importance and benefits of wellness will make a significant difference in clients’ lives. As a message therapist, she feels her role is to help clients discover where they are on their individual journey as well as to provide essential information to set clients on a positive road.

Leigh Rysko, MT
Massage Therapist
Leigh Rysko has been practicing bodywork for two years upon graduation from The International Professional School of Bodywork in San Diego, CA. Her passion for wellness came from time spent in Peru’s Amazon Basin. In Peru, she studied Reflexology, Yoga, and Reiki which caused her to realize the benefits of the mind-body connection. Leigh specializes in Sensory Repatterning, Circulatory, Reflexology, Trigger-Point, and Neuromuscular therapies.
Prior to her bodywork education, Leigh obtained a BA in Education and Spanish from Denison University in Ohio and a MA in Madrid, Spain for Second Language Acquisition and Linguistics. She then taught Spanish and ESL for eight years in San Diego.
Leigh believes strongly in the power of staying open to complementary healthcare pathways. Following her heart in the pursuit of cultivating inner harmony in an outwardly-focused culture, Leigh feels blessed to proactively partner with clients to increase body awareness through wellness.

Rafael Duran

Yoga Instructor
Rafael Durán, a yoga instructor for over 12 years, is registered with Yoga Alliance at the 500 hour level. His experience was instrumental in developing the first yoga instructors’ training in the Kansas City area with senior level teachers.
Rafael began a ten year study under the tutelage of Senior Intermediate Level III Iyengar Yoga teacher, Laurie Blakeney, in 1983. In 2000, he traveled to India to study at the Ramamani Iyengar Memorial Yoga Institute in Pune.
He began studying to ease pain associated with Spondylolysthesis and later decided to apprentice in Iyengar Yoga. Iyengar Yoga is a form of Hatha Yoga, which helps to unite the body, mind and spirit for improved health and well being. Also, Iyengar Yoga is known for its use of props, such as cushions, benches, blocks, and straps.

Diana Graves

Diana has been practicing various styles of yoga for 8 years. For the past two years she has trained, and continues to train, under Iyengar instructor Rafael Duran. Diana is currently working toward obtaining her yoga teacher certification by the end of 2008.
She began practicing yoga to address chronic pain and stress issues, which significantly improved in her symptoms. In a few months, the back pain was gone. In addition, Diana noticed that she felt a reduction in stress.
For Diana, yoga is life-affirming and full of the joy of self-discovery. She believes that yoga allows the student to discover and express their inner joy, strength, and fire. Diana invites her students to let their yoga practice become an expression of their authentic selves.

Tamie Mills

Tamie found her passion for dance and movement at an early age. She began taking choreographed dance lessons at age 10 and continued until her senior year in high school. When she started teaching children the art of movement early in high school she knew she wanted to help others connect to their own bodies. Upon taking her first group Pilates mat class in 2001, Tamie felt like she was in dance class again and decided to teach others about core strength, body awareness, grace and agility. Tamie was certified in Pilates mat work in 2003 and has been teaching ever since.
What Tamie enjoys the most about teaching Pilates is the chance to help students reach their goals in a supportive environment. Tamie’s advice about movement is to keep trying new kinds until you find something you love

Janet Vogt
Operations Director
Janet Vogt, the Operations Director at Your Wellness Connection, has fifteen years of experience in managing health care and has worked in physician offices. In addition, she is certified as a Chiropractic Assistant from The Masters Circle, where she developed stronger skills in caring for people, processes, nervous system anatomy, billing, payment plans, and client flow.
She enjoys the energy and excitement of a progressive wellness center, which Your Wellness Connection provides. In her role, she facilitates wellness care through team leadership and operational efficiencies. Also, Janet understands wellness as a continuum, where improvement can always be found.
