Blessing Bags

Your Wellness Connection is inspired to Make A Difference!

We encourage you to make a “Blessing Bag” for the homeless and hand them out. If you don’t have the time to make your own, you can donate money. We will do the shopping & hand them out for you. This is a great project to get the whole family involved. Suggestions for “Blessing Bags” are below on the page.

*Please drop off blessing bags or donations between now & December 20th*

Get to know the homeless. Spend time with them. Ask them their names, and remember them. Tell them yours. Shake their hands. Be open and friendly. Hug those who want hugged. Ask them about their story. Listen. Remember.

The homeless are our equals. Honor them, respect them and treat them as our brothers and sisters. Feel honored that they are willing to share their lives with you and that you have the opportunity to spend time with them.

Find out from them what they most need. Your presence, your touch, your love, may be at the top of the list. If you’re giving them “stuff”, personally hand it out. Remember – You’re “sharing”, be it your time or your stuff.

Thank you for this great idea and reminding us that we are all equal and come from the same place.

I came here to get some ideas for Blessing bags and enjoyed the video. I was super surprised to see my sister Susan in the video. I am proud of you Susan and the work you, your family and your co workers do for the homeless.

so my granddaughter and I made 6 of these together yesterday. we were thinking it was best to give them to street people when we see them with their signs asking for money/help. in your opinion, is it better to bring our bags to your location? and where exactly would we take them, to the wellness center? thank you!!
